The Game Theorists
Ladies and gentlemen, you may have to adjust the color of your monitors...it is definitely a yellow strap! Haha...I didn't realize it would be so controversial. Pull up the Wiki shot of it and it's pretty obvious.
(You can also judge based on the brown underpieces that Link wears as a part of that outfit as well, plus the little laces in front at his neck...the hat to me was the most obvious, though)
Also, just to clarify: A lot of people are saying "It's obvious it's Fallen Hero because Link wakes up in a Reincarnation Chamber." Technically, you can't use that as evidence here because the "Hero is Defeated" division is specifically related to Link losing at the end of Ocarina of Time against Ganon, NOT the battles described in BOTW.
Lastly, a lot of people are mentioning the appearance of the "Mirror of Twilight" in the form of the "Fragmented Monument." And that's a really good point, however, if you look at the "Fragmented Monument" in BOTW, its design is pretty strongly different from the Mirror, in particular the writing in an ancient language around the rim of the circle.
Could the timelines have united and this is at the end of them? That's actually what I was hoping for as I researched! Sadly, I just didn't feel like there was enough evidence to support that. When I stopped to look at all the evidence together as well as how Eiji Aonuma was talking about this game leading up to its launch, it felt like the team INTENDED this to be a return to that first timeline while making nods to the other games.
Who's John Titor?
Could it be that just like in Terminator 3, regardless of what happens in the other games, eventually all 3 time lines lead to BoTW?
Talking about Ganon's Gerudo and Demon form, after freeing the Gerudo Divine Beast ( the camel one, I don't remember the name ), Urbosa mentions that Ganon, once, had assumed the form of a Gerudo.
Spectacle rock appears in Wind Waker as spectacle island, quadrant C-2 I think
that is the greenest yellow stripe I have ever seen...
Also in BOTW if you go for mipha one of the champions some of the zora’s say you failed mipha while trying to beating Ganon or calamity ganon so that could also pit it into the failed time line cause you failed every champion I think I haven’t finished the game yet so NO SPOILERS lol
Every Time i have sleepover with My cousin when i wake up every Time My cousin has My switch in his hand.
The Master sword going through the letter " Z " of the game's titles said it all.
I think those different timelines are actually just different links in different times if you do a certain Easter egg on super smash bros brawl or for Wii U I can’t remember someone says there are a lot of links in a green suit
I actually saved this video away, went and played Breath of the Wild, and just came back to watch this. Fascinating video, and a most excellent game.
Yet you don't know the heros tunic in botw is an easter egg if any thing the time line goes to the hero wins cause theirs a side quest in botw where the twilite mirror from twilite princes appears.
Xan the firegod
$300 switch? more like $380.
I like how they moved to the Carolinas after stealing a switch xD
8:58 Isn't spectacle rock also found in Wind Waker?
There should be a legend of zelda where the zeldas from all timelines are over whelmed because Gannon has crossed the timelines to triple his power and now he is trying to obliterate all of time so zelda has to combine the timelines to one and link has to face his hardest dungeons and get his most powerful version of the master sword so he can take out Gannon and restore the timelines
i think chid ara end becuse at the beging you see one thing 100 year nap you will be super old if you where not kid
So.. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild takes place after Link falls and Hyrule is devastated by Ganon.. And while Link's dormant, Majora's Mask happens. It only makes sense! Link perceives himself to be dead, so he goes through the Stages of Grief, preparing to accept his own death, then SURPRISE! He's not DEAD, he was resurrected and/or reincarnated, then BOTW happens in real life
Hey, Matpat, Did you ever stop to consider that it could be the connecting point for all three timelines????
13:48, coincidence. Happens in homestuck all the time.
1:25 I looked it up, John Titor is a musical artist
Go go power rangers nanana go go power rangers nana
but that wasnt yellow, that was a lighter shade of green..
My theory is that BotW is the game that reforms the one time line. In other words no matter what happens in Ocarina of Time it all leads to BotW
Hey, MatPat, I just thought of an idea if you want to entertain it;
Basically card games on motor bikes and what you'd have to do in order to not die while trying to beat your opponent. Because driving and games? Not safe, yet they made an entire series about it.
If Link was defeated in Ocarina of Time, how are you playing as him in the Failed Hero timeline? Didn't he *
It was the cross stitch on the tunic got me
Who says it's the same link it can be another person named link
That 'yellow' band looks awfully green to me.
How do the CDi games fit into the timeline?
mat pat u my idol
I knew it would be the failed timeline. I called it.
Dude!! Not only the yellow stripe, but you forgot to mention the brown sleeves!
Not yellow matpat
Is link a boy or a girl he has a girl voice but in other games ge yells like a boy makes no sence
You can play it on the wii u
What if it is all three time lines reconverged by the apperance of calamity Gannons refusial to be reincarnated and combining through all the alternate realities evidence shows that parts from all three time lines appear and that 100 year nap could have been a harmonic convergence between the three links intergrating their pasts and history
Gotta say, this may be my favorite Zelda theory!
what would have been awesome was if the game was in the adult timeline, where the sea receded and the master sword being removed from ganon's head caused calamity gannon.
But what about in botw palmore ruins there is the mirror of twilght
When Zelda references the Twilight realm, it's probably because Twilight realm exists in breath of the wild but link only deals with it in another timeline.
Child timeline yes. down fall timeline... no
everything you claimed as proof of breath of the wild being in the fallen hero timeline is either inconclusive, or can be disproved, besides zelda's mention of the twilight invasion of twilight princess. if the game took place in any timeline that wasn't the child timeline, that twilight invasion never would have happened, and she would have no knowledge of it. the rito appearing in multiple timelines is evidence that just because something happens in one timeline, doesn't mean it can't happen in others. calamity ganon might be pure evil, but just because we don't
a human form, doesn't mean he doesn't
one. the geography of each game is intentionally different, and the gaps between the games in time, albeit exaggerated from realism, give the land time to change. also, the "hero of the wild" armor set is not specifically representing any hero in any timeline, since the games take place so apart from eachother, the hero's outfit in each one would most likely be lost to descriptions, which those languages could change, or the description could just be lost.
That moment when he announces where the game goes in the timeline along with the epic music was pure bliss.
What if it's a hint at things to come? As in they might make a game involving the twilight in the FH timeline
i thought it was a green stripe
I always considered Breath of the Wild a reincarnation of every other Zelda game
Sooooooo with Calamity gone will we be seeing Vaati in another timeline as a main villain again 👀
John Titor is a time travaller?
