Adele Penguin Mourns its Chick
This is a heartbreaking story. A chick of Adele penguin fell of the slippery ice-covered hill above where the colony of the penguins live. Without Mother's heat the chick perhaps got too cold for his own good, plus he could have been hurt during his fall. Now he is barely moving and has no chance of survival. His Mother cannot pull him up the hill - she can only hope that the chick will do it on his own, which he can't. The chick has perhaps couple hours of life left, if that many. The clean-up crew of the Antarctic region - snowy sheathbill birds - are waiting for the meal.
