"The next day, waking up in the morning, we saw big drifts of snow outside the window. The blizzard did not end and became stronger overnight. Mr. Howard suggested that we stay with him a couple more days until the weather improves. The radio announced a storm warning with strong gusts of wind and a lot of snow. We realized that it was impossible to move further along the route, and we really should stay for a few more days at Mr. Howard's house. Despite the weather conditions, it was a wonderful day. A festive ambience reigned in the house, because Christmas is coming soon. Alice and Betty cooked delicious food, and Charley and Jack and I decided to chop wood for the fireplace, because it was freezing outside. In the evening after dinner, we all moved into the living room together as Mr. Howard asked us to help him decorate the Christmas tree. The living room was not large, but very cozy, like the rest of the house. The large stone fireplace made the pleasant sounds of crackling wood. Large panoramic windows offered a beautiful view of the mountainside and the forest. The blizzard raged, and large flakes of snow quickly swept down. Opposite was a small neighbor's house. Mr. Howard told us an interesting story that there used to be a forester who collected forest herbs and made tea from them. And 10 years ago he moved to the city, and nothing else is known about him. No one lives in this house now ... We sat in the living room all evening, listening to Mr. Howard's stories, having fun and playing chess. It was a lovely evening, it was very nice and peaceful. And late at night we decided that we had to go to bed. Everyone went to their rooms, and I sat for another 10 minutes and also went to sleep in my cozy little attic ... "
